Nicholas Harris Interiors are delighted to be involved in a major charity initiative for 2016. Our aim is to raise much needed funds for a local charity SNAAP (Special Needs Advisory and Activities Project) , a local charity based in Herne Bay that supports disabled children and their families.

We have chosen this charity as it directly benefits a member of our staff and his family. We have seen first-hand how valuable its services are and we have pledged to support them by raising as much money as we can to try and keep these services running. Funds are currently being raised by families to continue running the minibus short break service which was discontinued after Easter 2016. This was a much valued and very popular service which provided disabled children with an opportunity to have a fun day out with experienced staff, enabling their parents to have a break from their caring role.  A number of events and activities will be organised throughout the year and these will be posted on our Facebook page and our website as they happen.

On 21st May 2016, a team of 40 (including Wendy Harris, Deborah Ireland and Nathan Ireland representing Nicholas Harris Interiors) successfully undertook a 10/20 mile hike around Whitfield, Kent, in order to raise money for SNAAP. The current fundraising total stands at £3591.00. We would like to extend a big thank you to all our customers who so generously donated. There is a just giving page which is still open for anyone who would like to make a donation.

Our next initiative will be ongoing and very easy to get involved with.  We have teamed up with recycle4charity , this company recycles your empty inkjet cartridges to help protect the environment and raise money for charity. It’s so easy!

a)         First check the “wanted list” to see if your cartridge is suitable to recycle Inkjet Cartridge Wanted List.  Each wanted cartridge that             is recycled will raise £1for SNAAP.

b)         Then follow this link to register for your freepost recycling bags and post your               empty cartridges back to recycle4charity.  We also have recycling bags which can be collected from our showroom, these hold up               to five cartridges.  Alternatively call in to our showroom and drop them off in our collection box.

c)         Nicholas Harris Interiors will have access to a special online fundraiser account that lets us see how much money our customers                 have raised and how much was kept out of landfill!  The money raised will automatically go straight to SNAAP.

This recycling service is also available for mobile phones Please note that mobiles cannot be set in freepost bags but will need to be put in our collection box.  The prices change every day so your charity donation will be based on the best returns the market can offer via auction; some phones can raise as much as £70.  50% of the final sales value will be donated to the charity untouched; the remaining 50% will go to pay for the recycling boxes used and other costs involved.

Please share this with your work colleagues, friend and families and help us to help SNAAP.

If you would like more information about this recycling service or any other aspects of our charity initiative please get in touch with us and we will be happy to help.
